a bit about me.
Hello! I'm Vanel. I have a passion for exploring new cultures and experiences. I'm also a big history enthusiast (and a member of the Nevis Historical Conservation Society Youth Group) who loves poetry and art. Currently, I'm based in the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean and am eligible to work in the United Kingdom. Over the past few years, I've acquired knowledge in architecture and urban design, real estate, climate change, and GIS mapping.
My professional aspiration is to design environments that are accessible and enjoyable for everyone, promoting inclusivity, harmony, and comfort for all. To support this vision, I have acquired:
Associates' degree in Architectural Design Technology from the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College
Bachelors degree (honors) in Interior Architecture from the University of Brighton
Diploma in Structural Engineering and Construction Site Safety from Alison
Certification in Accessibility and Inclusive Design from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
My enthusiasm for architecture and the relationships I've cultivated have enabled me to collaborate with DisOrdinary Architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture, an Inclusive Partner with the University of Brighton, as well as to take part in the UNESCO Transcultura Stone Restoration and Conservation program. Given the increasing importance of climate change justice, I represented my federation in the 2024 Caribbean Climate Justice Leaders Academy, organized by Island Innovation. Additionally, I am engaged with the St Kitts and Nevis Initiative for Climate Transparency's Low Emissions Analysis Platform, where we examine the climate implications of enhanced public transportation and the regulations surrounding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 9, 11, and 13.
